Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told the church to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries such as preparing the church bulletins, teaching Sunday School, and serving as door greeters.

Mission Outreach

Faith Community Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missions around the world with our money and with our prayers. The Bible commands us to care for the hungry, the poor, the widows, and the children.  We believe that you can never “out-give” God, and that God will bless those that keep His commandments.

  1. 127 HAVEN is a home for children in Uganda, Africa. It is run by Linnet Nabatanzi and her husband David Tamale. They currently have 9 children that they are raising in their home.  These children have been rescued from the streets, and from terrible godless situations. Their mission is to remove homeless children from poverty and death on the street.  The children are experiencing a Christian family atmosphere, being taught the Word of God, and feeling the love of God.
  1. MINISTRY TO ISRAEL is an organization that provides a radio station that broadcasts Christian programs throughout Israel.

We also support mission works at home. For the past many years, we have provided food for many families in our area that have been in need of a little extra help. We provide immediate assistance with food when a family calls with a need.  Our primary focus has been in Sullivan and Greene counties. However, we will not turn anyone away if we are made aware of a need.
  1. BROWN BAGGERS is a local organization that provides food to children who may or may not have food to eat during times that school is not in session.
  2. THANKSGIVING BASKETS Each year we distribute Thanksgiving baskets to less fortunate families in our area.  The baskets come complete with everything needed to prepare a Thanksgiving turkey dinner, as well as food for several extra meals.
  3. CHRISTMAS GIFTS In addition to Thanksgiving baskets, we also provide Christmas gifts to children who otherwise might not have a good Christmas.  Each child receives clothing, toys and gifts. Over the years, Faith Community Church has never failed to meet a need when it has been made known to us.

We believe that the church continues to grow and to thrive, due to the fact that this church body is a loving, caring, obedient family.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Ushers

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in welcoming people when they arrive, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, before the morning service, people pray for the ministry of the Word. Each Thursday, parishioners come together for a special time of prayer, where we ask for the glory of God to fill our services. God’s glory is the most important aspect of our church services and our lives.
